Best Time for Char Dham Yatra
The most awaited annual pilgrimage tour in Uttarakhand remains open for the pilgrims for a period of six months and remain closed in winter months. Usually, the tour begins in the month of Vaisakh (April- May) on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya and ends in the month of Kartik (October-November) according to the Hindu calendar resembling with dates of Vijaya Dashmi, Diwali, and Bhai Dooj. With May and June being peak time for Chardham Yatra, you can also plan around September month to avoid the crowd and get on an easier trip. The Temple committee along with the Kedar-Badri Mandir Samiti fixes the Opening and Closing Dates of Chardham Yatra.
