BRIEF ITINERARY OF KASHMIR LAKES TOUR

Day 1: SONMARG – ‘Meadow of Gold’

On reaching Srinagar, you will be welcomed by our representatives. On the first day of your tour, spend some beautiful time in the dreamlike place of Srinagar, known for its houseboats, gardens, and lakes. Take an iconic Shikara experience at Dal Lake or explore the Mughal Gardens that unravel many beauties along the way. In the afternoon, leave for Sonmarg. On arrival, spend overnight at a campsite.

Day 2: SONMARG – NICHNAI VIA SHEKDUR – Walk around the beautiful Waterfall

In the early morning, have your breakfast start your 3 to 4 km trek from Sonmarg, and reach a roadside eatery from where you can get all the required commodities for a day. Here onwards, go to the Sindh River which will take you through maple and pine forests. Explore the stunning views of Sonmarg Valley and pictorial streams. Through this trek, go to the snow-covered Shekdur Range. Take some rest before starting your tour towards Nichnai. On arrival, check into the campsite for an overnight stay.

Day 3: NICHNAI TO VISHANSAR LAKE – The Color Changing Lake

Walk up in the early morning to see the scenic views and start your tour towards Nichnai Pass for enjoying the stunning views of lush valleys and untouched beauty of the region. Then, cross the river to arrive at the Nichnai Pass & Vishansar Berry. On arrival, explore the meticulous beauty of the pass and snow-covered peaks all around it. Gazing on the left of this trail, explore the captivating view of the Vishansar Lake and Himalayan Range. At Vishansar Lake, overnight stay in the camp.

Day 4: VISHANSAR TO GADSAR Via Gadsar Pass

In the early chilly morning, witness the Kishansar Peak casting its reflection on the azure lake waters. Now, start the tour towards the lakeside. Later, go towards the Kishansar Lake to finally reach the Gadsar Pass, where you can go through the flowery meadow and some pictorial lakes; Yamsar is one of the best lakes. The Gadsar Lake is a Picturesque Lake with the stunning beauty of exotic flowers and snow on both sides. On arriving at the lakeside, check into the nearest camp and get permission to pass the Gadsar; ID proof is a must for this. Overnight stay at Gadsar Lake!

Day 5: GADSAR – SATSAR – First Glacier of your Tour

Begin your walk from the army camp towards the stream. Take a short break at Maengandob, fringed by mountains. On reaching the group of seven different lakes, a Satsar Lake; follow the same procedure as yesterday with the army officials and set camp near the lake. Overnight stay at Satsar!

Day 6: SATSAR – GANGABAL – The Serene Nature’s Delight

On this day, you have to push your physical and mental limits. Trudge through rocks and boulders-ridden terrain; pass the Satsar lakes till you arrive at the forest line. During this climb, witness many ridges at different heights and the quaint Gujjar huts. Explore the fascinating views of the twin lakes: Gangabal and Nundkol connect each other, known for trout fishing. Visiting Nundkol Lake is a popular weekend getaway among the locals. Take a trek of 20 minutes from Nundkol Lake to Gangabal Lake, and by crossing the bridge; you will arrive at the campsite. Overnight stay!

Day 7: GANGABAL – NARANAG – Srinagar

On the last day of the tour, start from Gangabal camp; and ramble on grassy land covered with pine forest and yellow flowers. Take the last leg of your tour at Naranag. Visit the Naranag Temple. Now, be driven back to Srinagar with beautiful memories.
